Research Strategy

We began the research by searching for pre-compiled lists of trade and treasury associations in New Zealand from websites such as Licensed NZ, Site Safe, Agronomy Society of New Zealand, and the International Group of Treasury Associations. After locating the organizations, we provided their description and contact person information, leveraging executive team members provided on their websites. For individuals that didn't provide their email information, we included their LinkedIn profile information. There was no specific information on the number of New Zealand Lavender Growers Association (NZLGA) members. We tried searching for their member directory and through company and award publications but did not find any relevant data. We also leveraged third-party association profile companies such as CINCH, but the data was unavailable. However, the company disclosed that it has members from the north to south of New Zealand.
We leveraged a resource beyond Wonder's typical two-year standard to provide the number of WISTA New Zealand members. However, since it is part of a broader international organization, we also supported the information by providing its total members.
Based on our findings, several additional trade associations can be provided for New Zealand. However, data on treasury associations is limited.

What are examples of trade and treasury associations in Hong Kong?

Introduction

In the "Hong Kong" tab of the project spreadsheet, we identified ten trade associations in Hong Kong for the shipping & logistics, commodities, IT services and distribution sectors. For each association, we provided its name, website, description, membership information, contact person, role and contact information. Additionally, this research identified one treasury association and provided the required details. We couldn't retrieve the contact information for two contact persons. Details are provided in the research strategy section. Select findings from our research are provided below.

The spreadsheet can be accessed here.

Select Findings

  • Alex Koo Pok Sing is the executive vice president of the Hong Kong Logistics Association.
  • The Rice Merchants Association of Hong Kong is focused on uniting rice merchants in Hong Kong.
  • The Hong Kong Metals Manufacturers Association (HKMMA) has over 700 members.
  • Hong Kong Federation of E-commerce aims to develop e-commerce in Hong Kong through strategic collaborations.

Research Strategy

For this research on trade and treasury associations in Hong Kong, we leveraged credible sources available in the public domain, including the Hong Kong Directory of Trade and Industrial Organizations. We also used third-party sources such as Hunter.io to determine the email addresses of contacts at the associations and have provided screenshots of the email addresses in this Google Document. We couldn't find the email addresses or LinkedIn profiles for two identified contacts: Kenneth Chan (Hong Kong Rice Merchants Association) and Professor Feng Weitang (The Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology). First, we scoured their association websites and realized the emails weren't published. Next, we searched email finder websites using the contact names and their association's domain URL, but this failed to return results. Searching for their names and positions on LinkedIn fell short as well. Finally, we expanded our research to any mentions of the contacts with their email address from events attended or other organizations they belong to, but this also proved abortive. We have entered "N/A" representing "Not Available" in the corresponding cells.

Next Steps

Based on data availability, the research team can conduct further research to identify two more associations each (a total of eight) for the sectors covered in this research (Shipping & logistics, commodities — agriculture and non-agriculture, IT services and distribution) or other preferred industries. For each association, we will provide the name, website, description, number of members, contact person, role and contact information.
